It’s that time of year again! Christmas is here and our teams across the country are at their busiest serving up festive food, drink and memories. In the spirit of giving, our retail recruitment team have been offering an extra pair of hands to our teams on the front line during the busy season. From salad prep to serving guests, the #SupportYourLocal campaign has seen recruitment teams visit brands all over the nation including Premium Country Pubs, Nicholsons and Sizzling to name just a few. We caught up with some of the team that swapped their day job to find out what they got up to and why they got involved.
Recruitment Manager Rachael went back to business to support the brilliant team at the Red Kite, Vintage. Rachael was blown away by how friendly and welcoming the team were when she arrived to lend a hand over a busy festive lunch.
Rachael told us why she gets involved with #SupportYourLocal: “It’s always great to see a professional team in action making sure the guests are having the best food, drinks and fun times. I have total respect for everything our teams do throughout the year, but especially the busy time that is Christmas. It’s an amazing feeling to see our frontline teams smashing it!!"
Kim gave a helping hand and worked alongside the truly amazing kitchen team at Harvester Britannia, Lancing.
We caught up with Kim after her shift. “Today was brilliant. I had so much fun with the team who were extremely hard working, knowledgeable and passionate about their jobs. I’ve been blown away by the knowledge and experience of the team. I want to say a big thank you to the team for all for their support and patience. It’s safe to say I truly recognise how hard all our teams across the country work!”
Recruitment Manager Steven dusted off his pint pulling skills at The Victoria, Premium Country Pub. It was a trip down memory lane for Steven, returning to the business where his Mitchells & Butlers career began almost 6 years ago!
We caught up with Steven about what it was like going back to business: “I just had the best time going back to the business where my M&B journey began! It was great to be reminded of the immense effort and hard work all our teams put in, especially at this time of year. I felt so proud to re-join the team and it was great to see awesome service being delivered to all our guests”.
Recruitment Manager Emily loved every moment helping at the Bramley Cottage, one of our Ember Inns. We caught up with Emily to find out how supporting her local felt.
“Our sites go above and beyond over the festive season, so the least we can do is help them out! I had the pleasure of joining the Bramley Cottage in Redditch, and we absolutely smashed a busy lunchtime with lots of bookings and walk-ins. #SupportYourLocal is just one of the reasons why I love my job; we are all there to help and support each other.
