This is a fantastic role for an individual who has a keen eye for detail, who shares our love for the vibrant world of pubs and restaurants and is looking to develop their career within Procurement, with a specific focus on Beer and Craft Ales.
In this varied role, the Assistant Procurement Manager you will be responsible for supporting the Procurement Team in the successful delivery of the Drinks Procurement Strategy in relation to Beer and Craft Ales. The purpose of this role is to assist in the procurement process from tender through to contract execution and ensure accurate supplier documentation and product data are maintained.
The successful applicant will be positioned at the heart of a busy Procurement Department with regular contact with suppliers, brand teams, outlets and Drinks Category Managers, gaining valuable insight and experience into the key tasks and challenges within Drinks Procurement.
This role provides an excellent development opportunity for an individual considering a future role as a Procurement Manager or a current procurement specialist looking to stretch their career in a larger company. What will I be doing…?
- Support the Procurement Managers to develop and implement strategic procurement plans that ensure continuous improvement within the performance of our drinks’ categories.
- Assist in the procurement process from tender through to contract execution, to include producing tender packs, conducting tender analysis, negotiating optimum commercial deals and forming contracts.
- Maintain accurate and up to date supplier information, contract documentation and master product data
- Actively review and maintain contract files, supplier databases and STEP data
- Manage the product change process, effectively co-ordinating the transition in supply arrangements. Ensure accurate and timely completion of product change documentation to ensure the seamless implementation of all product changes within agreed timeframes.
- Work collaboratively with nominated suppliers and 3PL stakeholders to optimise supply-chain performance, identify and mitigate risks to supply, continually improve inbound supplier performance and minimise write-off liability for specified areas of spend.
- Effective management of new supplier set up documentation, product listing, brand extensions, allergen information, product delists etc
- Monitor and report upon contract performance and adherence.
- Act as the liaison between procurement, supply chain, the operations teams, marketing, product programme team and the suppliers
- Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships internally and externally
- Enhance category knowledge across all drinks categories through the ongoing personal development programme
- Regularly visit suppliers across the UK as required
