If your experience and achievements to date highlight your commercial acumen, you possess proven skills in negotiating and you have a passion for drinks – then this could be the role for you. Sitting within our Drinks Procurement team, we have a unique opportunity for a Drinks Procurement Manager to join us on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Head of Drinks Procurement, this role has Procurement responsibility for a purchasing drinks.


The purpose of this role is to develop and execute a clear and robust procurement strategy to maximise the commercial benefit and competitive advantage for M&B within an area of drinks.

What will I be doing? 

  • Develop and execute the strategic procurement plans, delivering continuous improvement in category performance.  
  • Actively lead Procurement projects, formulating strategies, developing and leading cross functional teams to deliver projects successfully, ensuring the optimum supply-base for the company.
  • Negotiate optimum, sustainable terms with Suppliers and deliver commercial targets.
  • Proactively seek competitive advantage for M&B by securing benefits from Suppliers’ innovation and identifying a pipeline of projects and initiatives to improve efficiencies and cost.
  • Working in partnership with our Category Managers to develop and source drinks products which delight our guests.
  • Designing innovative processes and alternatively sourcing solutions to secure best value for M&B
  • Develop and manage productive supplier relations.  Monitor supplier performance against specification and ensure corrective action is promptly taken when required.
  • Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships across all key stakeholder groups – (eg, Marketing, Operations, Supply-chain, Finance and Suppliers) to support the delivery of profitable market share growth.
  • Monitor category performance against competitor and industry benchmarks and respond promptly to market or performance changes.
  • Maintain and communicate up to date market intelligence and subject matter expertise. Interpreting data from suppliers, internal systems and market sources
  • Source market leading product solutions that will delight our guests by capitalising on the use of consumer insight.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date contract and product data documentation, adhering to all legal and company policy commitments.
  • Effectively liaise with all key stakeholders within the supply-chain, both internally and externally, to ensure continuity of supply (suppliers, distributors, data management, stock management, invoicing, and payments etc)
  • Designing innovative processes and alternatively sourcing solutions to secure best value for M&B
  • Delivering a programme of improvements with suppliers aligned to the M&B environmental targets.

 

What we’d like to see from you: -  

  • Commercial experience, preferably in a Procurement or high-level negotiation environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen and proven track record of delivering against financial targets.
  • Sound negotiation skills.
  • Compelling communicator (both verbal and written) to all organisational levels.
  • Strategic and innovative thinker
  • Effective planning and organisational proficiency, with project management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to quickly build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Driven to deliver high standards.
  • Resilient problem solver with ability to influence others to implement identified solutions.

 

Experience & Qualifications; 

  • 3 years of relevant negotiation experience from either a sales or procurement background.
  • Degree level or equivalent 
  • CIPS Qualification highly desirable

*Please note this role does require travel to the Midlands, on average this will be between twice a week however it will vary, and in addition you will travel nationwide to suppliers throughout your working week.
