At the Treacle Mine in Essex, a Sizzling Pub and Grill, Ellie-May completed her Hospitality Team Member apprenticeship in Food and Beverage. Ellie-May loved the chance her hospitality apprenticeship has given her to progress to GM before she's 25. With a level 2 certificate, Ellie-May has secured a nationally recognised qualification whilst earning and growing her skillset.

Here's her story:

What do you like best about working for M&B?

It gives you the chance to expand your skills and really grow as a person in and out of work.

What attracted you to a M&B apprenticeship?

I have seen other people do it and I am driven to get an official qualification.

What has been your highlight of the apprenticeship experience?

Getting that recognition around my current knowledge and skill.

What is your favourite part of your job role?

I am looking to progress so I enjoy stretching myself further to the next level.

Has the apprenticeship made you view your job role differently?

It has made me take it a little more serious and try to see the business side of things. It has helped my pride values.

Were there any challenges in your role, if so how did you overcome them?

Was a little daunted by the work on offer and balancing this with needs of work, spare time and Mable training. I have been able to adapt my time management skills to keep up with this.

Would you recommend an apprenticeship to your team or friends?

Yes because it can further your career and help you in other ways that you might not even be aware of. And you get a nationally recognised qualification.

What would you tell someone who is considering starting a M&B apprenticeship?

Don’t panic. Take it a step at a time and think about each bit at a time.

What is your next career goal?

I want to be a GM by the time I am 25.
