Here's why a management apprenticeship is a great career move
If you're deciding whether to do an apprenticeship you'll want to hear Deborah's experience. She joined the Vintage Inns team at The Brassmill Pub & Restaurant in Bristol and all the hard work she's put in means she's come out with a Hospitality Supervisor Level 3. We want to share Deborah's top highlights and tips, so here they are:
What do you like best about working for M&B?
Great atmosphere, team and management. Lots of perks such as discounts. And of course this apprenticeship.
What attracted you to a M&B apprenticeship?
I heard about it and thought I would like to gain more knowledge and experience and this ticked the boxes to do this. I wanted to gain more confidence and understanding in the workplace.
What has been your highlight of the apprenticeship experience?
I really enjoyed my meetings with my regional trainer. She is really knowledgeable.
What is your favourite part of your job role?
I love getting involved with the guests and the team. No day is ever the same.
Has the apprenticeship made you view your job role differently?
It has yes. It has given me more responsibilities and I understand the reason behind incentives.
Were there any challenges in your role, if you how did you overcome them?
The maths and English has been a bit difficult but the support from my trainer and team gave me the confidence to power through and the virtual classrooms are a great tool.
Would you recommend an apprenticeship to your team or friends?
Yes fully! If they want to progress, gain more experience and more confidence then this is the thing to do.
What would you tell someone who is considering starting a M&B apprenticeship?
Go for it- just do your best and apply yourself and you’ll be fine. The resources are there to support you.
What is your next career goal?
I'd like to become an assistant in the future.
