Data Quality Manager


We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Quality Manager to join our Digital Transformation Team on an initial 6 month fixed term contract, with a likely extension and possible opportunity for a future permanent role. Reporting into the Senior Product Manager you will own the vision and strategy for Data Governance, ensuring it fits within the overall Data and AI strategy, and broader Mitchells and Butler’s business strategy. You will collaborate with cross functional teams to develop and enforce data standards, ensuring data consistency across different systems and teams. You’ll be a senior lead contributor to data governance forums, offering advice to the business, as an expert practitioner.


This role will involve a mixture of office and home working, with our head office being based in Birmingham City Centre.

What you’ll be doing in this Data Quality Manager role…

  • Self-starter who is responsible for establishing policy that will contribute to the development of data governance policies and guidelines.
  • Defining data quality requirements, data classification standards, and data validation rules, aligning them with M&B’s data strategy.
  • Establishing a comprehensive data quality framework working closely with data steward, data architects, and compliance team. To include data quality metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), data quality improvement initiatives and standards to ensure available, accessible, accurate and consistent customer data.
  • Data governance compliance to ensure that policies and procedures are effectively communicated and adhered to across M&B. Conducting regular audits and providing recommendations to address any non-compliance issues.
  • Identifying and resolving data quality issues collaborating with relevant stakeholders (e.g. IT, 3rd party supplier.) to employ data cleansing techniques to ensure consistency and reliability across M&B.
  • Collaborating with IT and vendors to implement and optimise data profiling, quality and catalogue tools.

 

What you’ll need to bring to this Data Quality Manager role…

  • Subject matter expertise knowledge of data governance frameworks and standards in the hospitality industry.
  • Proficient in implementing and optimising data quality tools - hospitality experience preferred.
  • Experience of implementing a data catalogue tool.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify and address data quality issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Expertise in conducting regular audits and assessment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise with SQL and Power BI - preferred
  • Experience of Scrum, Kanban, agile methodologies and working as part of a cross-functional squad -preferred

 

Qualifications…

  • Bachelor or above degree in Information Management or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data quality management and governance.
  • Experience with CDP (customer data) platforms and related technologies is a plus.
