We have an exciting permanent opportunity for an Assistant Food Technologist to join the Safety Team reporting to the Head of Supplier Quality Assurance. Your key responsibility is to ensure that all food products within the product portfolio are safe, and that accurate technical data is produced and to enable the provision of allergen information to our guests so, they can make informed decisions on the food they consume.

What will I be doing as an Assistant Food Technologist...?
- Verify and sign off dish names and menu descriptions for dishes
- Responsible for the accuracy of technical data within M&B’s product specifications
- Signing off & delisting product specifications on behalf of M&B in real time, timely and accurately
- Investigating food composition and advising and assisting team members on unnecessary offending ingredients
- Providing support to Food Development Managers with the development of specialist dietary ingredients
- Auditing the validation of and maintaining the specification portfolio including; product risk rating, product categorisation, nutritional values & FIR labelling compliance etc.
What do I need as an Assistant Food Technologist...?
Just like our brands, our teams are diverse. You’ll have...
- Food Composition, Allergen, Nutritional & Labelling experience
- A good understanding of production processes and development limitations
- Ability to maintain professional internal and external relationships
- Ability to translate complex data feeds into customer-facing information
- Highly organised with the ability to maintain a methodical approach on projects, ensuring objectives are completed in a timely manner
- Excellent numerical, verbal and written communication skills with a good eye for detail
- Science Food related Degree and/or post graduate qualification supported by sound food composition knowledge
- Specification writing experience
- Advanced HACPP preferable
- Food Safety level 4 or above, preferable
