We have an amazing 12-month fixed term opportunity to join our Property team as a Building & Kitchen Development Assistant, who will provide a pro-active, comprehensive administrative service for the Kitchen Development Team, as well as the Director of Building Development when required. You will be an integral part of M&B’s Sustainability Strategy, supporting our Business Net Zero Target by exploring innovative ideas. You will work closely with the Kitchen Development Team to generate and develop new concepts and cost saving opportunities, as well as managing the development schedule in support.

The Opportunity – Building & Kitchen Development Assistant
- Support the Capital Plan through the organisation and support of the Ideal Kitchen Layout design reviews with the key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Head of Kitchen Development and Kitchen Design Managers when reviewing outsourced Catering Contractors performance and Catering Equipment Suppliers.
- Management of the Profit Driver development schedule generated from Divisional Property Exec meetings, and aligning to Kitchen Design Managers.
- Develop, coordinate & proactively maintain Catering Equipment Replacement Tool to capture Catering Equipment variations, and liaising Maintenance queries to Kitchen Development Team.
- Take a leading role in coordinating and facilitating the execution of our Sustainability “GoGreen” initiatives by managing immersion sessions, supplier relationship and operating engagement across key stakeholders.
- Assist Head of Kitchen Development, Director of Building Development and Project team when relating to investments associated with road map to Net Zero.
- Work effectively to assist Head of Kitchen Development on new concept development, and work with 3rd Parties when required.
What you’ll need to bring to the Building & Kitchen Development Assistant role:
- Clear and concise methods of communication and excellent administrative skills.
- The ability to deal with multiple tasks at any one time with great attention to detail.
- Flexible approach to work and able to cope under pressure.
- Self-motivator with a high degree of curiosity.
- Knowledge of Commercial Catering Equipment specifications
- First class IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, One Drive)
- Understanding of construction and building legislation, technologies and food safety legislation desirable
- Project Management skills desirable
