We have an opportunity for a credible expert looking for their next challenge as an internal Consumer Insight Manager, covering a period of maternity leave for up to 12 months. We are actively seeking an expert in consumer research and data, who will work closely with colleagues and stakeholders within our internal insight team to assess and track brand health across Mitchells & Butlers portfolio of brands. As Consumer Insight Manager, you’ll be abreast of relevant macro and market trends and proactively identify insight gaps and areas of opportunity within the guest experience and brand propositions.

The Opportunity – Consumer Insight Manager   

As Consumer Insight Manager, reporting into the Director of Insight and Strategic Planning, you will:-

  • Proactively work and partner senior stakeholders to identify commercially critical insight gaps and research projects
  • Pull together speculative research proposals and present these to senior stakeholders to secure funding
  • Analyse and shape data and research outputs into commercially astute, accurate and actionable insights
  • Compile a monthly Insight report summarising key insights for the period across brand health and guest experience metrics, market and consumer trends, and notable competitor activity
  • Together with Insight colleagues, provide 360⁰ Insight Packs for Mitchells & Butlers brands to support the annual brand planning process
  • Manage external relationships including briefing and negotiations with secondary data suppliers, full-service agencies, and fieldwork only agencies
  • Create and co-ordinate in-house qualitative and quantitative surveys and focus groups as required
  • Manage relevant budgets

 

What you’ll need to bring to the Consumer Insights Manager role: -

  • Min 5 years’ experience in an Associate Director or Senior Insight Manager role
  • Experience of qualitative & quantitative research techniques and projects essential
  • Experience of working in or with large complex companies with multiple brands and stakeholders is essential
  • Ideally experience of working in or with clients from the hospitality and retail sectors
  • Ideally a mix of agency and client-side experience
  • A hardworking, highly motivated, can-do self-starter
  • An engaging and influential communicator able to bring insight to life
  • Expert in crafting questionnaires, writing discussion guides, and turning data into key insights and recommendations that are easy to understand and act upon.
