The Opportunity – Retail Support and Marketing Analyst
We have an exciting opportunity for a Retail Support and Marketing Analyst to join our Finance Central Support team, on a 12-month secondment/fixed term basis.
Working from our Birmingham City Centre office in an office flexible role as Retail Support and Marketing Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate periodic reporting of Brand Marketing, Property, and all Commercial Director cost centres across the organisation, whilst providing full financial and accounting support to functional leads and members of the Executive Committee to manage costs efficiently and effectively. You will also be required to deliver robust budgets, projections, and forecasts. In this role you will report into the Head of Finance Central Support and Business Change.
The Opportunity – Retail Support and Marketing Analyst
- Business Partnering with Brand Marketing, Commercial Director, and Property teams to ensure good understanding of both current and future activity planned within the relevant functional areas so financial commitments can be accurately recognised and forecast appropriately.
- Review, analyse and report performance variances to cost centre owners, supporting and challenging them in delivering costs to agreed budgets / forecasts.
- Deliver timely and accurate periodic reporting and balance sheet control
- Help produce budgets/projections for central departments and ensure any risks and opportunities are communicated to the relevant parties
- Own the company expenses process, including payments to employees and analysis to drive better expense claim behaviour across the company
- Ensure accurate reporting of data and correct financial treatment
- To support the Head of Finance Central Support & Business Change in relation to revenue projects that are being undertaken across the retail support centre
- Support evaluation of major marketing projects
- Lead and deliver the budget cycle within areas of responsibility, understanding how the current operating cost base may look going forward and providing clear communication of requirements and timelines to functional heads.
- Liaise and respond to Auditor queries as required.

What you’ll need to bring to the Retail Support and Marketing Analyst role…
- A professional accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) is desirable, or candidates in their final stages may be considered.
- Sound commercial judgement with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to build strong relationships and communicate complex financial information to non-financial colleagues in a clear and concise manner
- An efficient self-starter who takes full ownership of responsibilities, and looks to make a difference
- Experience of financial processes including period end reporting would be beneficial
