A new to business opportunity has arisen within our Finance department, sitting with our Financial Accounts team. We have a great opportunity for a qualified Group Accountant with proven technical accounting skills. Reporting into our Head of Financial Accounts, working alongside our wider Finance function, this is an Office Flexible role based from our central Support Centre in Birmingham City Centre

What will I be doing?

· External financial reporting - Owning and delivering the production of the subsidiary financial statements and contributing towards the production of the Group interim statement and Annual Report

· Internal financial reporting – Contributing towards the production of the periodic group consolidation, including the consolidated balance sheet and cash flow for management accounts.

· Property impairment – owning and completing the property impairment review process (half year / year-end) providing recommended adjustments for inclusion in the accounts

· Assisting in documenting and updating accounting policies.

· Documenting and performing controls around the impairment process and assist in documenting and monitoring the performance of financial controls across the finance department.

What do I need?

Just like our brands, our teams are diverse. You’ll have or be a: 

· Qualified accountant (preferably ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with minimum 2 years post qualification experience

· Technical accounting skills, including a good knowledge of IFRS and FRS 101, in particular IFRS 16 Leases 

· Experience of working in a ‘Big 4’ practice, highly desirable

· Experience of group consolidations

· Excellent Excel skills

· Good organisational skills with ability to work to strict deadlines
