We have an opportunity for a credible expert in consumer research and data looking for their next challenge as an Insight Manager, to join us on a permanent basis. Expert in drawing actionable insights from consumer research and data, the successful candidate will work closely with colleagues and senior stakeholders to understand business challenges, mine secondary data to ensure the voice of the consumer is heard, and design and interpret research projects to provide clear, accurate and actionable insight.
As Insight Manager, you’ll be abreast of relevant macro and market trends and proactively identify insight gaps and areas of opportunity within the guest experience and brand proposition. You will also develop a deep understanding of the business to interpret research findings in a holistic and commercial context, have sound strategic thinking, and an ability to challenge the status quo.

The Opportunity – Insight Manager
As Insight Manager, reporting into the Director of Insight and Strategic Planning, you will be:
- Proactively working with senior stakeholders to identify commercially critical insight gaps and research projects.
- Building 360⁰ Insight Packs for each brand to inform the annual brand planning process, ensuring the strategic direction is data driven with guests at the centre. Working together with the Guest Experience Manager to identify the key opportunity areas and threats to each brand.
- Compiling an annual macro consumer trends pack and presenting it in key forums, including to the Marketing Leadership Team and at internal conferences.
- Pulling together speculative research proposals and presenting them to senior stakeholders to secure funding.
- Analysing and shaping data and research outputs into commercially astute, accurate and actionable insights.
- In conjunction with other members of the Insight team, distilling key points from industry reports and distributing findings to senior stakeholders.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders across a range of teams, including marketing, drinks category, food development, and operations.
- Manging external relationships including briefing and negotiations with secondary data suppliers, full-service agencies, and fieldwork only agencies.
- Creating and co-ordinating qualitative and quantitative research, including surveys, focus groups, and ethnographic research.
- Ensuring data is accurate and robust by working with data suppliers to quality check ahead of sharing outputs with the wider business.
- Managing relevant budgets.
- Managing Graduate placements in the Insight team.
What you’ll need to bring to the Insight Manager role:
- Proven experience in insight/market research roles with a strong track record in turning data into meaningful insights
- A good working knowledge of qualitative & quantitative research techniques and projects is essential
- Experience of working in or with large complex companies with multiple brands and stakeholders is desirable
- Experience of working in or with clients from the hospitality and retail sectors is desirable
- Ideally a mix of agency and client-side experience
- An authoritative, credible and persuasive ‘consumer insight’ expert
- A creative strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and marketing skills
- A natural drive to lead the business to success by proactively identifying new opportunities for business growth
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- Able to work on multiple projects in a high-pressure environment and meet short deadlines
- Able to aggregate and interpret data from a wide range of sources
- Able to use data and extrapolate research to draw clear, commercially savvy and actionable recommendations
- Strong, proven experience in primary consumer research including:
- Qualitative techniques
- Quantitative techniques
- Expert in crafting questionnaires, shaping discussion guides, and turning data into key insights and recommendations that are easy to understand and act upon
