We have an exciting and unique opportunity for a Food Procurement Manager to join us on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic role for a Procurement Specialist with a keen eye for detail who shares our love for the vibrant world of pubs and restaurants.
Working in mobile role, you’ll be part of our Food Procurement team. In this varied role you will be responsible for key food categories across the Mitchells & Butlers portfolio, you will ensure consistent delivery of optimum profit contribution, through the development and execution of procurement strategies and practices. Partnering with our internal Food Development team to drive cost and quality for all our brands and leveraging scale where possible - you will deliver market leading prices whilst maintaining quality and ethically sourced food products.

What will I be doing as a Procurement Manager…?
Working alongside six other specialised Food Procurement Managers, your role will be challenging and varied including: -
- Developing and executing strategic category plans, delivering continuous improvement in category performance and market leading cost prices
- Leading and managing sourcing projects
- Building and maintaining effective internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Negotiating optimum, sustainable terms with suppliers, utilising MAB’s scale and scope to deliver annual targets
- Developing and managing productive supplier relations and identify areas where efficiencies can be made
- Monitoring supplier performance against specification and ensure corrective action is promptly taken when required
- Delivering a programme of improvements with suppliers aligned to the M&B environmental targets
- Working in partnership with our Food Development Manager’s to help develop and source food products which delight our guests
What do I need as a Procurement Manager…?
Just like our brands, our teams are diverse. You’ll have/be..
- Demonstrable experience of practical Food purchasing experience in a Retail or Hospitality environment
- Strong proven negotiation skills
- Highly motivated self starter
- Strong level of self confidence with the ability to fairly challenge current practices and norms
- Proven business influencing and stakeholder management skills
- CIPS qualification, or working towards, highly desirable
*Please note this is a mobile role that will require travel to the Midlands, on average this will be between twice a week however it will vary, and in addition you will travel nationwide to suppliers throughout your working week.
