As a Procurement Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of Procurement and post contractual supplier management across the indirect services categories are carried out in a thorough and professional manner; resulting in market leading purchase prices, quality of product, service and support to meet the needs of our businesses, and maximise the profits of Mitchells & Butlers. This is an office flexible role, based within a forward thinking department where the focus is on sustainable long term value creating solutions. You will be part of our wider Procurement Team, reporting into our Head of Procurement for Goods and Services.

What will I be doing…?


Working alongside other specialised Procurement Managers, your role will be challenging and varied including: -

  • Develop and execute the strategic category plan for assigned Indirects categories, delivering continuous improvement in category performance.  
  • Consistently identifying and developing best practice ways of working within Procurement by taking a holistic view of the ways of working and responsibilities across the total Team and Supply Chain
  • Manage sourcing projects, ensuring the optimum supply-base for the company.
  • Negotiate optimum, sustainable terms with Suppliers and deliver commercial targets.
  • Develop and manage productive supplier relations.  Monitor supplier performance against specification and ensure high levels of service delivery and corrective action is promptly taken when required.
  • Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships across all key stakeholder groups – (eg, Marketing, Operations, Supply-chain, Finance and Suppliers).
  • Source market leading solutions that will support our businesses to delight our Guests
  • Proactively seek and secure competitive advantage opportunities for M&B through an identified pipeline of value improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure that the administration of assigned categories is undertaken in an accurate and timely manner. 
  • Being a role model to other members of the Procurement team in terms of attitude, work ethic, professionalism and commitment to achieving department and Company goals
  • Actively lead Procurement projects, formulating strategies, developing and leading cross functional teams to deliver projects successfully
  • Interpreting data from suppliers, internal systems and market sources
  • Developing and implementing revised budgetary and KPI reporting for new service providers

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to quickly build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.

  • Resilient problem solver with ability to influence others to implement identified solutions

 


Qualifications & Experience;


  • 5 years of relevant Procurement experience
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent 
  • CIPS Qualification is highly desirable
