Burning log fires in the winter, beautiful gardens in the summer – with over 180 country pubs dotted across the UK in quaint and rustic settings, there’s plenty of country escapes to indulge in, offering hearty food favourites, fine wines, British gins, cask ales and much more.

 


The Opportunity – Area Manager, Vintage Inns

 

As an experienced Area Manager, you’ll lead a district of thirteen stunning country pubs across the South West Coast from Southampton to Plymouth with country pubs in Barnstaple and Exeter. From the Drum Inn at Torquay, dating back to 1936, the Drum’s claim to fame is its architect; the world-famous, Sir Edwin Lutyen. This gorgeous country pub is the focal point of its village and thanks to a recent million-pound restoration project it has had its thatched roof replaced, its beautiful gardens restored, and it really does make the most of its superb views, to a tranquil spot in Eastleigh, the Fishers Pond. With its name taken from the pond it sits on, the Fishers Pond offers stunning and unrivalled views over the water to you and our guests! These are just two of thirteen country pubs, from a very desirable collection in a stunning part of the UK.

 

Drawing on your passion, experience and leadership, you’ll inspire your Management and their teams to grow and develop, serve up great guest experiences and smash targets each and every day, and celebrate success as a team when all the hard work pays off!


Your role will be so varied and rewarding that this little taster will never do it justice, but we'll give it our best shot:

 

  • Inspiring, leading and coaching your teams bring their ‘A’ game when it comes to food, drink and service quality, always delivered with passion and pride
  • Leading a diverse management team of roughly 50 across 13 sites in our South West patch
  • Driving people succession through your district through successful coaching and mentoring
  • Investing time across your district, supporting your teams, ensuring they’re the best they can be and working together to deliver results to be proud of
  • Driving a commercial culture- where delivering consistent high standards, sales and profit are at the heart of everything we do
  • Ensuring your teams maintain a safe, clean and risk-free environment
