We have an exciting 9 month fixed term opportunity within our award-winning People Services Team for a Team Leader to lead our Onboarding & RTW teams.

Our People Services team provide best in class support for all HR processes with services including hire to retire, payroll, expenses, Management Information, Helpdesk, Business Support and HR & Payroll Systems.
The role of Team Leader for our Right to work and Onboarding teams will lead a team of Advisors to provide support and advice to all managers and employees – Retail Management, Corporate and hourly paid employees based in c1600 Sites around the UK.
This exciting and varied role provides day to day leadership, development, and coaching to support Advisors to deliver a great service to our colleagues.
Reporting into our Head of Operations and Support and based in our thriving office in Birmingham City Centre, this is an Office Flexible position. Playing a key role in our People Services team, this role will give the opportunity to grow your experience and career in HR/Payroll and beyond.

The Opportunity – People Services Team Leader - Onboarding & Right to work
- Lead and manage a team of 10 Advisors to ensure services are provided in line with service levels and quality standards.
- Conduct regular 1:1 conversations, to review performance against objectives, give feedback, coach and discuss development / career aspirations
- Hold team meetings each period and weekly huddles to cascade information, facilitate great teamwork by sharing workloads, challenges and discussing opportunities to support each other and improve processes.
- Plan and manage resources to ensure continuity of services during breaks, planned and unplanned leave.
- Monitor workload and ensure all services and queries are delivered in line with time and quality service levels and any regulatory timescales.
- Manage relationships with senior stakeholders to support, advise and resolve any escalated issues or offer support, advice, and resolution.
- Ensure all processes are fully documented and regularly reviewed.
- Support the implementation of changes by supporting impact analysis, planning for changes, communications, implementation, and close review of embedding the change.
- Ensure quality standards are met and regularly reviewed with frequent monitoring and feedback to Advisors, so they have opportunities to further improve.
- Check and sign off all exceptions.
- Lead a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities and regularly questioning and reviewing processes with the team.
- Lead the recruitment and training of new Advisor roles, working closely with other Team Leads to recruit Advisors who could support and work in all teams across People Services.
- Rotate around between teams for development and to help identify opportunities to further improve processes.
What you’ll need to bring….
- Demonstrate Leadership skills and coaching of others.
- Previous HR administration / payroll knowledge essential
- Experience of using HR SAP/Payroll desirable
- Basic knowledge of Business Reporting
- Previous experience leading a team desirable.
- Ability to prioritise workload of self and others.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Works well under pressure.
- Excellent Communicator
- Experience of using HR SAP/Payroll desirable
- Basic knowledge of Business Reporting
