What will I be doing?

• Support and partner the Head of Building Supplier Services to identify, engage and onboard suitable suppliers to deliver Mitchells & Butlers property maintenance and property development objectives.
• Using gap analysis, identify areas of deficiency in the supply chain and understand the number and types or organisations required to fill these gaps. Further assessing the suitability of the suppliers in question, visiting and assessing their technical and financial suitability to work with us. 
• Working with supplier selection and onboarding of suppliers via negotiation or tendering processes as required.
• Managing the on-going routine performance of selected groups of specialist contractors.
• Ensuring that a suitable contract exists with current and newly onboarded contractors and suppliers. 
• Developing a pipeline of new suppliers ready to meet any shortages which may occur.
• Providing analysis of supplier activity, advising on supplier capability and building plans to ensure suppliers are engaged but not stretched.
• Providing periodic reporting for internal and external use on the performance of each supplier within each supplier category.
• Providing advice to Corporate Procurement and Heads of Building as to which suppliers or groups of suppliers offer cost saving opportunities and assist in the provision of any technical information to support any retendering or repricing exercises as may be required.

What do I need?

• At least 2 years’ experience of supplier management with knowledge of operating in the construction, maintenance, or retail fields being highly advantageous
• High degree of maturity, excellent communication presentation and interpersonal skills
• High degree of self-motivation and organisation
• Proven ability to successfully manage both high priority and concurrent demands
• Clear and concise methods of communication
• Desire to develop and grow your current skills and experience in Property Supplier Management
