Are you an HR professional with the ability to coach and develop our population of Retail General Managers to give them the tools to help their team grow and develop, and improve overall performance? An opportunity presents itself for a permanent Retail Capability Partner who will provide coaching activities across retail sites which will enhance the skills of the General Manager to develop their people, ensuring a strong management succession pipeline and in turn aid improvement of performance against key metrics.


As an expert coach offering support to divisionally aligned areas within our Retail business, you will report into a Divisional Head of People to partner with the businesses and drive the people agenda.  This is a mobile role which and this may require you to have a flexible approach to travel.


Please note, we are encouraging applications from a nationwide basis, as the geographical area for this role is flexible.

The Opportunity – Capability Partner

In this role you will operate as a divisionally aligned resource, working with the Retail Capability Manager to define and implement activity which supports the Division in addressing the following key objectives:

  • Coaching General Managers to build capability as an organisational priority
  • Ensuring consistent inductions fully equip our management teams to develop the capability of their people
  • Empower and Inspire GMs to create a sales focused retail team
  • Coach GMs to understand and identify opportunities in the service profit chain
  • Drive internal succession to improve the quality and quantity of capable appointments
  • Develop the district trainer network to enable them to drive the people agenda
  • Embedding the Internal talent management process and promote the importance of regular development catch-ups
  • Liaising with the talent team to build strong effective management teams

 

What you’ll need to bring to the Capability Partner role:  

  • Robust Coaching Skills
  • Experience of coaching to improve performance and general management/leadership skills
  • Experience of managing the requirements and expectations of a wide population of stakeholders
  • High level of interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Resilience
  • Personal impact and credibility at management level
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in operating within a large matrix organisation
  • A CIPD qualification is preferred, alongside coaching training/qualifications, or willingness to acquire
