An opportunity presents itself for a permanent Talent & Learning Partner who will support the design and delivery of M&Bs talent strategy. You will work in partnership with line managers in the business to become ‘talent managers’ utilising a behavioural leadership framework and upskilling our internal population to recognise early potential and how to develop it effectively. You will take a lead in designing talent development programmes for those in first time operational management roles to director, both operational and functional specialists. You will also manage key talent programmes across corporate and retail functions, ensuring continual review, evaluation and improvement where necessary

 

As a trusted partner offering support to the business to aid understanding of the evolution of talent processes you will report into our Head of Talent Management, in a mobile role and this may require you to have a flexible approach to travel.

The Opportunity – Talent & Learning Partner

 

  • Be an ambassador for the talent processes in M&B including supporting understanding of M&B’s internal talent management process and ensuring smooth implementation of each part of the process across the business.
  • Manage, monitor and improve talent programmes e.g. coaching, graduate programmes, high potential development centres to ensure consistent and effective delivery.
  • Work with Key Stakeholders to analyse talent gaps within the corporate functions and source or develop interventions to support continual succession.
  • Support development feedback conversions, liaising with Line managers and HR leads to ensure robust development plans are in place for High potential team members.
  • Monitor and evaluate the talent processes across M&B including gaining regular feedback from end users, using business metrics to evaluate impact of interventions and establishing a process of continual review of development offers.
  •  Work closely with Operational Effectiveness Teams and Corporate communications to ensure talent processes and programmes are clearly defined and regularly communicated.
  • Keep up to date on current learning and talent theory and apply to inform the evolution of the talent cycle.

 

 

What you’ll need to bring to the Talent & Learning Partner role:  

 

  • Highly articulate with the ability to understand and navigate the needs of key stakeholders.
  • Experience of coaching to improve performance and general management/leadership skills
  • Ability to manage the expectations of multiple, competing stakeholder needs and prioritise resource accordingly.
  • Able to have high support/high challenge discussions with senior stakeholders to progress talent development
  • High level of interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Resilience
  • Personal impact and credibility at management level
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good coaching skills to navigate career conversations/development feedback sessions
  • A CIPD qualification is preferred, alongside coaching training/qualifications, or willingness to acquire
