Looking for a career with purpose? M&B x Social Bite partnership
At M&B, we’re known for bringing people together over great food and drink in some of the UK’s best-loved hospitality brands, including Browns, Harvester, Miller & Carter, and Toby Carvery.
But a career at M&B is about more than working in hospitality. It’s also about being part of a business that supports communities, invests in people, and creates real social impact through long-term charity partnerships and local initiatives.
One of the most powerful examples of this is our partnership with Social Bite.
What is the M&B and Social Bite partnership?
Our partnership with Social Bite is focused on tackling homelessness and supporting people to rebuild their lives with dignity, stability, and opportunity.
Social Bite works to end homelessness through practical, long-term solutions, including:
- Providing free food and essential support services
- Creating supported employment opportunities
- Funding and developing housing solutions
- Helping people access training and pathways into work
Together, we share a common goal: to create meaningful, lasting change for people experiencing homelessness across the UK.
Why this partnership matters in hospitality careers
Working at M&B means being part of a hospitality business that actively contributes to social impact, not just through donations, but through action led by our teams.
Across our pubs and restaurants, colleagues are directly involved in fundraising, volunteering, and community engagement. This makes it a strong example of purpose-driven hospitality careers in the UK.
Award-winning social impact
We’re proud that our work with Social Bite has been recognised at the Business Charity Awards, where we were named Business of the Year and also won Mid-Term Partnership of the Year.
Together, M&B and Social Bite have:
- Raised nearly £3 million (and counting)
- Engaged over 50,000 colleagues and millions of guests
- Supported communities across 200+ towns and villages
- Helped 39 people into meaningful employment
These results reflect the scale of what can be achieved when hospitality teams and charity partners work together.
The people making it happen
The impact of our Social Bite partnership is driven by people across M&B.
From General Managers leading fundraising in their businesses, to frontline teams getting behind campaigns like the Festival of Kindness, there is a strong culture of involvement and pride.
This isn’t a passive partnership. It’s something our teams actively bring to life every day.
How colleagues get involved
There are many ways our teams support the partnership, including:
- Taking part in fundraising events such as the Great Birmingham Run
- Supporting campaigns like the Festival of Kindness
- Joining charity golf days and community events
- Encouraging guest donations in our pubs and restaurants
For example, colleagues running the Great Birmingham Run helped raise over £8,000, showing how small actions across a large team can create meaningful impact.
Social Bite Village: real change in action
We recently visited the new Social Bite Village in South Lanarkshire, a supported housing community designed to help people experiencing homelessness move towards independence.
The village provides:
- 15 self-contained homes
- On-site support and development opportunities
- Pathways into training and employment
- A shared community hub to build connection and stability
We are also proud to support the on-site volunteer accommodation, helping enable the ongoing work that takes place within the village.
Seeing this work in action reinforces the real-world impact of the partnership and the importance of long-term support, not just short-term aid.
A career with purpose at M&B
This is the side of M&B you don’t always see, but it’s a core part of who we are as a hospitality employer.
A career with us means more than working in a pub or restaurant. It means joining a team that cares about people, communities, and doing the right thing.
If you’re looking for hospitality jobs in the UK where you can be part of something meaningful, develop your skills, and contribute to real social impact, M&B could be the right fit for you.
