Head Chef
- Full Time
Location
Island Queen, 87 Noel Rd, London N1 8HD, UK
This job has passed its sell-by date. All good things must come to an end! Why not dip into one of the following...
At the Island Queen we recognise that a good Head Chef is a key ingredient to our success. You’ll build a kitchen to be proud of, leading your team to thrive whatever the shift throws at them (not literally!).
The Island Queen is due to be remodeled next year with plans heavily featured around expanding the size of the kitchen.
The perfect candidate will have experience in building, developing and leading a successful team; will be well versed in health and safety practices, as well as experience in ensuring specs are delivered to a high standard.
The Island Queen is steeped in history and it doesn’t take long to find an article about the pub, first built in 1842. In the 1850’s, this Grade II listed building became first licensed for music and dancing, with a small music hall on the first floor, now one of the longest surviving of its kind. It is the only pub in Britain to bear the name the ‘Island Queen’, named after the American sidewheeler steamboat that cruised along the Mississippi and Ohio rivers during the 1800s. Winner of the Londonists ‘Best pub in Angel’ (7 years ago) and once referred to as the most famous pub in Islington. Also listed in Time Out as one of the best pubs in Islington and numerous other internet listings.
Join us at Castle Pubs, where each one of our pubs has its own story to tell. Think urban pubs packed with personality, craft beers and a unique atmosphere. If you’ve got pints of personality, we want to hear from you.
This is a suitable opportunity for somebody looking for their first “Head Chef” appointment.
