When you think of Stonehouse you may think of the delicious all-you-can-eat breakfasts, the stone-baked pizzas or even the freshly carved roasts, but have you ever wondered what it would be like to work at a Stonehouse restaurant?

At Stonehouse Pizza & Carvery we’re a friendly bunch priding ourselves on giving the warmest of welcomes, creating an environment that feels like a ‘home from home;’ for both our guests and our team!

Whether it’s serving up 100% fresh stoned baked pizzas, pouring a pint for your favourite regular or creating memorable moments for guests, being a part of the Stonehouse family means being at the heart of the community.

And you don’t have to take our word for it!

In this blog, we get to know members of our Stonehouse teams. Kitchen Team Leader Donald, Team Member Lisa and General Manager Lizzie, who collectively have 26 years’ of M&B experience between them. They will all be sharing with you their experiences of being a part of the Stonehouse family.

Meet some of the Stonehouse family

Lisa, Team Member at the Malt Shovel Stonehouse Pizza and Carvery

Joined the business in: 2013

What is the best thing about being a part of the Stonehouse family? My work family and meeting different people on a daily basis.

What is your favourite Stonehouse dish? The crispy poppin’ chicken wrap is delicious!

Who is your dream dinner guest? Brad Pitt!

What makes M&B different from other employers? I always feel rewarded for my hard work. For example, I was recently rewarded for getting the highest Trip Advisor Score in the business! And of course, the benefits, especially the 33% discount.

Did you know that as a team member you can get 33% off when you dine in any of our 13 brands! And it just got better because now your friends and family can also enjoy 20% when they dine, and you don’t have to be there.

What is the best thing about being a part of the Stonehouse family? The friendly atmosphere! This was my first job since moving to England and I was welcomed straight away.

What is your favourite Stonehouse dish? The chicken salad!

Who is your dream dinner guest? Beyonce.

What makes M&B different from other employers? The support which you are given and the opportunity to progress! I started out as a breakfast chef in 2015 and I have since had two promotions. I am now a Kitchen team leader!

Lizzie Burrows, General Manager at The Windmill Stonehouse Pizza & Carvery

What is the best thing about being a part of the Stonehouse Family: Working with real people, with real personality, from various walks of life and experience, whilst making friends for life!

What is your favourite Stonehouse Dish: Carvery Calzone- the best of both worlds and one of our signature dishes!

Who is your dream dinner guest: David Attenborough- not sure he's a carvery man but he is extremely interesting and me and the team could listen to him talk all day long!

What makes M&B different from other employers: The opportunity for development and career progression is recognised. M&B also offer all the training we could possibly need including Mental Health Awareness. M&B also offer fantastic benefits & amazing opportunities to gain qualifications such as apprenticeships and personal license awards.

It’s a fact! The development and training programmes we offer our team members is one of our most favoured benefits. We offer a range of development opportunities to new and existing employees, including award-winning apprenticeship schemes, quality educational spirit and soft drinks training, graduate schemes and MBA/MSc programmes for higher levels of management.
