How to take your job to University with you!
How to take your job to University with you!
At Mitchells & Butlers, we understand that life is full of exciting changes, especially for our team members heading off to university. Balancing an academic journey with part-time work can be challenging, but we’re here to make it easier with our innovative M&Be Transferred scheme.
This program allows our team to transfer from one of our pubs or restaurants to another when they move to start their university adventure!
M&Be Transferred is designed to provide employment stability for our team members during their university years, allowing them to work at home and away! Our team have the flexibility to continue to earn money in between their studies, or during the term holidays.
This program not only helps maintain a continuality of employment but also provides an opportunity to experience different environments and challenges within our diverse range of brands.
Stories from our team
Here are a few stories from our team members:
Sophie’s Story
"When I got accepted into university, I was thrilled but also worried about losing my job at my local Miller & Carter. Thanks to the M&Be Transferred scheme, I didn't have to start over. I transferred to a new location near my university and continued my role seamlessly. The support I received during the transition was fantastic, and it made settling into university life so much easier." - Sophie, Bar Team Member
Tom’s Experience
"Moving to a new city for university was daunting, but knowing I had a job waiting for me made it less stressful. I kept my part-time job as a chef, which helped me fund my student activities! Plus, I got to work in a different brand at Uni compared to at home, so I was able to learn a new way of working and meet new colleagues, which was a great experience." - Tom, Chef
Adele’s Journey
"I started working at a Premium Country Pub (PCP) during university, but when I finished my studies I wanted to continue working in the restaurant. I moved from Bristol to the Midlands and was able to move into a new role very quickly, supporting the growth of the PCP brand. This allowed me to establish that this was the field I wanted to build my career in, and as such developed into a General Manager!" - Adele, General Manager
