We have an exciting opportunity for a Automation Test Analyst to join our award winning IT Team on a 12 month fixed term contract. Based in Birmingham City Centre, you will work in a hybrid role. The main objective is to ensure that our test policy and processes are maintained and delivered correctly. You will be part of a test team responsible for daily testing practices.
It is important that you have experience in Automation testing, using Selenium.

What you’ll be do as our Automation Test Analyst…
- Fully understand and comply with the Mitchells & Butlers Testing Methodology and Processes
- Responsible for ensuring that all assigned Integration testing for Mobile App, Web and Desktop applications is executed, recorded and evidence stored to allow sign off within the agreed framework to be completed
- Day to day working as part of the Testing Team
- Ability and willingness to adopt new practices and learn new skills
- Carry out appropriate release testing tasks as scheduled
- Prepare Testing Deliverables for review by Peers and Test Manager
- Working with the wider Test Team to discover and identify where manual/exploratory tests cases can and should be automated
- Executing/Maintaining Automated Testing Frameworks Scripts
What you’ll need to bring to this Automation Test Analyst role…
- Knowledge of structured test methods and processes as part of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Proven experience of working within an Agile (or similar) environment / working with Agile software development processes (SCRUM, Kanban) and tools must be necessary.
- Proven experience of Test Management Tools e.g. Azure DevOps
- Ability to learn various applications and integrations on a fast phase
- Proven experience of testing APIs
- Proven experience of Retail / e-commerce POS testing in an Agile Testing environment
- Strong analytical skills
- Meticulous and high attention to detail
- Understanding and appreciation of Time Management
- Ability to work on own initiative and within a team
- Preparing concise and accurate test documentation
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrable experience of testing a wide range of responsive websites and mobile applications, with sound understanding of test processes
- Ability to maintain custom Automation Frameworks
- Experience writing test scripts in BDD
- Knowledge of Test Automation using Selenium (WebDriver), C#, Cucumber, API Automation
- Knowledge of standard tools such as AzureDevOps, Maven, Git, JIRA
- Knowledge of JUnit, TestNG, Appium (UIAutomator 2.0 and XCUITest Driver), Jenkins, Dependency Injection are desirable
- ISTQB qualification preferable
