A fantastic opportunity has arisen in our award-winning IT team as a Cutover Manager on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. We are seeking an experienced Oracle HCM Absence and Payroll Cutover Manager to lead the transition of payroll and absence processes from SAP HCM to Oracle HCM Cloud, including integration migration from BizTalk middleware to Azure Integration Services. The role is responsible for HR and payroll continuity, compliance, and data integrity, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time during the transition. This includes managing cutover planning, managing dress rehearsal and cutover phases, statutory compliance, vendor integrations, blackout communications, and interim HR, Absence and payroll activities.

What you’ll be doing in the Cutover Manager role…
- Cutover Planning & Payroll Execution
- Own the end-to-end payroll and absence cutover strategy, ensuring alignment across HR, Payroll, IT, and Finance.
- Define, document, communicate and execute Cutover runbooks, control checkpoints, and contingency plans.
- Coordinate with 3rd party providers and vendors to validate cutover readiness.
- Configuration & Data Migration
- Align with System Implementation provider on Oracle HCM configuration requirement and readiness in relation to the cutover.
- Align with Data Migration Manager on payroll data migration from SAP to Oracle HCM, including:
- Employee master data
- Absence balances
- Year-to-date (YTD) earnings and deductions
- Payroll history and retro-calculations
- User Account Creation
- UK Legislative reporting cutover requirements including update communication to HMRC for FPS/EPS and notifications to Pension providers
- Integrations & Payroll Interfaces
- Manage integration cutover from BizTalk to Azure Integration Services.
- Ensure successful transition of:
- Hours worked and absences from labour scheduling application
- Banking/payment files
- HMRC reporting
- Pension and benefits provider feeds
- Finance, GL, and reporting interfaces
- etc
- Oversee end-to-end integration transition across payroll, HR, Finance, and external vendors.
- Cutover Communications & Interim Tasks
- Define blackout periods, HR, Absence and payroll freezes, and interim manual workarounds for employees and managers.
- Issue clear communications on HR, Absence and payroll schedule impacts, system availability, and contingency processes.
- Coordinate interim manual payroll tasks such as off-cycle payments, manual adjustments, and exception handling.
- Act as the central communication channel during cutover to ensure all payroll stakeholders are informed.
- Continuity & Compliance
- Guarantee accurate and timely employee payments with zero payroll disruption.
- Ensure compliance with:
- Local statutory and tax reporting requirements
- GDPR, and audit controls
- Establish reconciliation sign-offs and payroll governance checkpoints with HR, Payroll, and Finance leaders.
- Stakeholder & Risk Management
- Serve as the primary liaison between payroll teams, HR, IT, Finance, and external vendors.
- Maintain a detailed cutover risk log, escalation plan, and go/no-go criteria.
- Provide project cutover status, reconciliation results, and readiness reporting to program leadership.
What do I need bring to the Cutover Manager role?
- HR, Absence and Payroll Cutover Expertise/experience: Proven experience in payroll-focused cutovers during HCM transformations.
- HCM Systems Knowledge: Strong functional understanding of Oracle HCM Payroll & Absence Management and SAP HCM Payroll.
- Integrations Experience: Experience with BizTalk interfaces and transition to Azure Integration Services is preferred.
- Strong Project Management experience including creation and constant management of the Cutover Plan at a detailed level by resources and cross team interdependencies identified.
- Statutory & Compliance Knowledge: Deep knowledge of statutory payroll processes, reporting, and audit requirements.
- Detail conscious.
- Communication Skills: Ability to manage payroll blackout communications, interim user tasks, and business readiness updates.
The following qualifications would be beneficial:
- Previous experience in SAP → Oracle HCM payroll migrations.
- Familiarity with Azure Integration Services, Logic Apps, API-based payroll integrations.
