We have an exciting opportunity for a Data and Integration Architect to join our award-winning Business Change and Technology team on a 18 month Fixed term contract. Reporting into the Solution Architect Team Manager you will create high level designs for solutions to business objectives while working with Vendors and Developers to establish low level design. In this role you will ensure alignment between the business change initiatives and the technology vision. You’ll produce roadmaps, strategies and guardrails that align to the assigned business domains in-line with Enterprise Architecture plans and Technology strategy.


This role will involve a mixture of office and home working, with our Head Office based in Birmingham City Centre.

What you’ll be do as our Data and Integration Architect…

  • Participate in all phases of software development life cycle including requirements gathering, development of technical requirements, prototyping, coding, testing, deployment and support
  • Interpret requirements to design and develop pragmatic data and integration solutions using Agile methodology
  • Provide high level effort and cost estimates in conjunction with the Data and Integration Team, for project leaders and business stakeholders
  • Document solution designs and sign off low level technical designs
  • Provide programming and technical expertise to ensure business solutions are met
  • Ensure that all code, configurations and other work products are thoroughly unit-tested prior to delivery
  • Perform code reviews and other quality checks as requested
  • Consult with testers to ensure appropriate system/integration testing use cases
  • Be the SME for data and integration for other Architects
  • Participate in Design Authority Board both resenting and peer reviewing solutions.
  • Work with other Technical Architects to continually develop data and integration patterns and evangelise best practice

 

What you’ll need to bring to this Data and Integration Architect role…

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
  • The ability to produce, manipulate, implement or enhance all architecture concepts, roadmaps, principles or effective strategies.
  • The ability to think laterally and constructively question established process.
  • Good understanding of Integration methodologies 
  • Good Understanding of data architecture, engineering (including warehousing and transformation) methodologies
  • Good Azure architectural knowledge, with an emphasis on data and integration
  • Experience with Azure Dev Ops
  • Experience with Agile or SAFE Agile development and delivery methodologies
  • Experience working in data/integration projects, especially in a retail or hospitality setting

 

Qualifications and experience Required…

  • Five years of experience in an architecture role.
  • Demonstrable understanding of architecture methodologies.
  • ITIL foundation – Appreciation of ITIL and Service Design techniques
