We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Workstream Project Manager to join our award-winning Business Change and Technology team on a 24 month fixed term contract basis. Reporting into the Lead Project Manager, and working closely with Senior HR Stakeholders, you will lead the data and integration workstream for our HR system replacement programme. You will lead the delivery of new data integrations, determine strategies to improve the data quality and plan, test and execute data migrations.
To deliver in this challenging and varied role, you will have an enquiring mindset. In the first instance we need someone to understand and document the full as-is architectural landscape and begin to audit and prepare for the HR programme when in begins in October 2024.
This role will involve a mixture of office and home working, with our Head Office based in Birmingham City Centre.

What you’ll be doing in as our Data Workstream Project Manager…
Project Management:
- Lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of the data and integration elements of the HR programme, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
- Lead and manage the delivery of all data migrations
- Lead and manage data quality activities
- Develop and maintain project plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Develop and maintain ways of working with 3rd party development team, working within an agile framework
- Responsible for creating and managing the budget and tracking spend.
Stakeholder Communication and management:
- Communicate project status, issues, and risks to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with organisational goals.
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, architects, testers and other stakeholders to prioritise and refine the plan.
- Create and maintain effective relationships with senior stakeholders.
Risk and Issue Management:
- Identify project risks and issues promptly.
- Implement strategies to mitigate risks and resolve issues impacting project delivery.
Continuous Improvement:
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team and the organisation.
Metrics and Reporting:
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and team performance.
- Publish regular reports on project status, the plan and other relevant metrics.
- Present key and appropriate updates to Senior Stakeholders
Collaboration:
- Foster a collaborative and cross-functional team environment.
- Work closely with the project team and other stakeholders to ensure a shared understanding of project goals.
- Ensure successful transition into service and support
What you’ll need to bring to this Data Workstream Project Manager role…
- Proven experience of delivering technology projects with a heavy data emphasis of varying size and complexity; understanding both agile and/or waterfall methodologies.
- Tenacity, drive, initiative, creativity and a “can do” attitude to cope with fast paced environments and multiple demands, demonstrating the ability to solve problems and handle set-backs.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrable clarity of thinking
- Experience of working in complex organisations
- Effective influencer, facilitator and communicator with the ability to simplify complex challenges and manage stakeholders.
- Proven experience of successfully managing 3rd party suppliers to deliver to timescale and budget
- Able to work independently and autonomously, managing day to day workload and priorities and managing the workload of others as required.
- Understand and communicate complex information and concepts to technical and non-technical colleagues, influencing others effectively, including at a senior level.
- Build internal networks for collaboration and knowledge sharing to aid current and future performance.
- Identify and capitalise on opportunities for continuous improvement, encouraging and challenging others to do the same.
Qualifications Required…
- Experience of management of data and integration projects; demonstrating a technical bias
- 5 years’ (minimum) experience as a Project Manager
- Prince 2/ Agile qualifications – or equivalent experience
