5 reasons to be excited for Freedom Day
The long-awaited ‘Freedom Day’ is upon us, and we sure are feeling free. Yes, we might not have all restrictions lifted, but there are definitely a few reasons to celebrate this monumental day. And here they are:
Ordering at the bar? Yes please
While we have to give a big clap, maybe even a standing ovation, for the wonders of modern technology, making sure that once pubs had reopened, we could order a drink and have it delivered right to the table. But we hear you loud and clear if the idea of waltzing up to the bar and ordering a round of pints from your favourite bartender might bring on a wave of nostalgia.
We’re up in the club
Remember what a nightclub is? We sure do. Like many other sectors, nightclubs have faced a tough time recently. With their doors now open, we’re barely containing our excitement at the idea of finding the cheesiest spot in town and dancing the night away with our besties.
You might not have missed the never-ending queue for the toilet or the sticky floors, but clubs really are some of the best places to people watch. And, come on, who doesn’t love a good people watching session?
Say goodbye to the virtual events and get your glad rags on because clubbing in real life is back!
Sporting events are back on
For all those sporting fans that missed out on supporting their favourite athletes from the stands, the wait is over. Freedom Day marks the return of an unlimited number of fans, and we know the time off means you’re only going to come back as even fiercer supporters. It’s time to get back into that stadium and let your team hear you roar.
The end of the picnic era
We learnt a lot in the last year or so. Some people picked up some new crafts, others mastered the art of binging a tv series in a weekend, and we all went to a picnic or two. With the pubs, bars and restaurants closed, we had no other option than to pack up our favourite snacks and drinks and set up camp at the local park.
There’s no denying that the picnics were fun. But the novelty soon wore off and we were dreaming of being back in a cosy pub, with actual food, refreshing drinks and hot food served straight from the kitchen. And with the British summer finally making an appearance, did we hear someone say beer garden?
Reunited with your work bestie
Ah, rewind a year and take a moment to remember the early days of furlough, and joys of working from home. You ditched the commute, could enjoy endless snacking with zero judgment, and most of all, you no longer had a reason to get out of your PJs if you had no video calls So what is not to love about remote working? Well, you’ve probably been missing your work bestie big time. But don’t worry, the reunion is going to be a good time!
Join the M&B family
Lastly, we want to take the opportunity this Freedom Day to make a huge shout out to our teams up and down the country. We couldn’t be happier that the bars, restaurants and pubs are back fully open, and our brilliant team are back doing what they love.
