What is it like being a Kitchen Manager at the different M&B brands?

What is it like being a Kitchen Manager at the different M&B brands?

It’s safe to say that we wouldn’t be the M&B that we are today if it weren’t for each of our 13 brands. They all add something different and we believe that there’s a place for everyone and anyone, so long as you’re a certified foodie.

So to help you figure out where you might fit in best, we’re going to give you a flavour for each one. We spoke to our Kitchen Managers to find out what makes their brand different, what they enjoy the most about working at their brand and the word that sums their business up the best.

Here’s what they had to say:

Thomas, Vintage Inns, The Chimneys

At The Chimneys, team engagement and opportunities for further development in a premium division are what sets us apart.

For me, the overall team spirit from everyone makes it a great brand to work for.

One word that sums up my business: Passionate

Mark, Ember Inns, The White House

I’d have to say it’s the guests and people that make Ember Inns the brand that it is.

My favourite thing about Ember Inns is the teams.

One word that sums up my business: Efficiency

Eric, All Bar One, Manchester

All Bar One is different from any other brand at M&B because of the style of food we have and the service.

I really enjoy that we keep up with current food trends.

One word that sums up my business: Great

Jonathon, Browns, Beaconsfield

Browns restaurants are located in some of the best buildings and in some of the best cities.

We are small but expanding, and many Browns restaurants are now being refurbed or remodeled. This makes it an exciting brand to be involved in and there are plenty of opportunities.

One word that sums up my business: Amazing

Daniel, Castle, Princess of Wales

Castle is made up of individual pubs which means you get the opportunity to cook specials that are specific to your location.

Teamwork and the ability to improve and develop are what makes Castle special.

One word that sums up my business: Special

Ellie, O’Neill’s Kingston

What I enjoy most about working at O’Neill’s is the hustle and bustle of a busy kitchen and training new team members.

Working at O’Neill’s is unlike working at any other M&B business because of the comradery we have, not only with our teams but with our guests also.

One word that sums up my business: Nurturing

Glen, High Street, The Shipping Forecast, Liverpool

High Street is a fun M&B brand. If the team are having fun, the guests will have fun.

One of the best things about working for High Street is that the brand focuses on developing its people.

One word that sums up my business: Family

Steven, Miller & Carter, Cardiff Bay

What makes Miller & Carter different is the premium offer.

The quality of the food we produce, the passion we have for steak and the development of our people are all great reasons to work here.

One word that sums up my business: Passion

Gary, Nicholson's, The Old Buttermarket

The food menu makes us different from any other M&B pub or restaurant.

What I enjoy most about working for this brand is the way that Nicholson’s Pubs stands out from the crowd.

One word that sums up my business: Unique

Christoper, Sizzling, The Hollymere

What makes working at a Sizzling Pub & Grill so different from other M&B brands has to be how closely we work with our guests.

Being able to teach and watch my team grow is what makes this job so great.

One word that sums up my business: Engaging

Richard, Toby Carvery, Chadderton Park

Toby Carvery is unlike any other brand because of how busy it is, yet the simplicity of the menu helps us keep on top of everything.

There are challenges working at Toby Carvey, but the feeling when things go right is unbeatable. We have a laugh and there’s a real sense of teamwork.

One word that sums up my business: Machine
