Mulled wine and pigs in blankets season is upon us, and we're ramping up for a busy time of year. Our teams work hard all year round, but in December they make experiences extra special for our guests. So what does it look like working during Christmas at M&B?

Well, over at Toby Carvery, the team serve up the best Christmash you'll find, while our people at All Bar One are mixing this season's most festive cocktails. Read on for a little taste of what you can expect from a Christmas job within Mitchells and Butlers (M&B).

Create memorable experiences

A job at M&B during the festive season is a chance to make every guest’s experience extra special. They pour into our cosy pubs, restaurants and buzzing bars across the country. Some are meeting up with old friends and some new. Some people are out for their annual Christmas meal with the family, and others have popped in for a rest whilst gift shopping.

Whatever has brought guests through our doors, our people take pride in making their visit a memorable one. You won't see any resting Grinch faces around here!

Experience teamwork at its finest

When you imagine a kitchen at Christmas time, do you think chaos? Well, that's one of the biggest myths about working in a kitchen. While it might be one of the busiest times of the years for our kitchen assistants, kitchen manager and chefs, they know how to take it all in their stride. They've got systems and processes in place that make sure they're ready to take on whatever is thrown at them each shift.

Step out the kitchen and into any one of our pubs, bars or restaurants, and you'll see the same outstanding teamwork in action. Our bar and waiting teams are experts when it comes to thinking on their feet. With the guidance of our management team, they know just what to do to get the job done.

Enjoy our employee benefit, Hastee

Have you ever counted down the days until payday? Who are we kidding? We’ve all been there, especially with the ongoing cost of living crisis. A big bill pops up, and suddenly payday can’t come soon enough. Or, it’s Christmas time, and you’ve got a million and one presents to buy.

Enter Hastee - one of our employee benefits which allows our hourly teams to access up to 30% of their earnings as an advance between paydays. On top of that, the Hastee app gives access to financial education and money management tools, helping you get to grips with managing money.

Earn extra tips

We don't like to pick favourites, but we might just have saved the best until last. At M&B, some shifts will be so busy that the time will absolutely fly, and before you know it, you're heading home. Our teams will vouch that it's great to work in a buzzing atmosphere and soak up all the festive cheer from our guests, but what is really the cherry on top is taking home some extra tips. Guests are often very generous around this time of year!

Join us for a very merry Christmas

Whether you're an aspiring chef with limited experience, a seasoned bartender looking for a new challenge, or a waiting staff team member with your eye on a general manager role, we'll help you take your hospitality career in the direction you want.

We believe in investing in our people, which means providing ongoing support and training, no matter whether you're new to the industry, or you've been in the game for some time.

If you like the sound of joining our team this festive season, why not check out Christmas jobs at M&B? With over 1600 businesses across the country - at brands like Harvester, Miller & Carter, and O'Neills - we bet you'll find a role that's perfect for you at the most wonderful time of the year!
