Celebrating our work besties!
When you ask someone who works in hospitality what they love about their jobs, we can say with confidence that they’ll talk about the people that they work with; that you get level of comradery that is totally unrivalled in any other profession and working with people you’re closest to can make work a hoot.
The amount time you spend together, the way you operate as one team and the good time atmosphere of the food and drink industry just makes it the perfect environment to make new long-lasting friends who support you day in, day out.
In celebration of National Best Friends day, we’ve put together a list of relatable moments that anyone with a work bestie (which in our industry is EVERYONE!) will know all about:
1. You see each other every day behind the bar, in the kitchen or on the restaurant floor – but that doesn’t stop you spending every day off together as well.
2. They’re the first one you go to when you’ve made a mistake because you can trust them to keep their cool and stop you from panicking.
3. You have your own way of communicating because sometimes you just can’t shout across the restaurant that table 34 need ketchup.
4. You try and sync up both being at the coffee machine/pass/cellar because it’s the perfect opportunity to steal a couple of minutes to have a catch up.
5. When you know that if you need an extra hand on shift, they’ll always come and help you out.
6. You’re so proud of them and their achievements – whether that’s a step up in development or a great piece of guest feedback.
7. The feeling when you’re not on the same shift.
All that’s left to say is a big shout out and thank you, to all our work BFF’s that make every day infinitely more enjoyable. Fancy a piece of the action? Explore our jobs, or take a look at our culture page to find out more about what it’s like to work at M&B!
