Are you under 18 years old and looking for a job? You've come to the right place.

Across the many brands at Mitchells & Butlers, we hire under 18s in a few different roles. Not only does that give you some choice, but it also means you'll be working with people the same age as you. You and your new work besties will come together  as one team and smashing targets.

So, if you want flexible hours and fancy working in a lively pub or restaurant, here are some jobs and older and benefits that you could scoop up at M&B.

Kitchens can be a great place to work. There truly is never a dull moment. So if you like to be in the middle of the action, it could be the perfect environment to pick up a few shifts and bag some more skills.

You might just find yourself drawn in by the fast-paced nature, and be tempted to build an impressive career. There's a clear progression route for chefs. At M&B for example, many people join us as a kitchen assistant or start a chef apprenticeship programme and then steadily rise the ranks in the kitchen.

Some skills that will get you a long way in a kitchen career:

  • passion

  • stamina

  • willingness to learn

  • teamwork

Food runner and glass collector

What are you looking for in a part-time or weekend job? If you know you do best in a busy atmosphere, surrounded by people, there really is only one place for you. Waiting staff jobs will keep you busy. But never too busy to have fun. You'll greet guests, get to know the locals and work with other young people. Find a great team, and your shifts will fly by!

You never know, you might go on to study at uni and want to keep working part-time to top up the bank balance. We offer uni transfer jobs, meaning you can switch between working at your local business at uni and your local one at home.

If you want to stand out in a food runner job or glass collector role, here's what you need:

  • good communication

  • a friendly manner

  • the ability to multitask

  • a willingness to work with others

What benefits do we offer 16 year olds and older?

There's a fair bit of choice out there for under-18s when it comes to job hunting, so why is M&B the way to go? Well, you'll be happy to know you get access to a whole list of benefits, and here are the ones we think you'll love the sound of best.

Discounts

Working at a leading restaurant and pub brand means that you'll enjoy lots of benefits, including our 33% Dine With Us discount at all of our businesses. If you're a fan of a Toby Carvery, Harvester or pub grub in general (and let's be honest, who isn't?), you and five other friends can dine out and enjoy a tasty discount. Or, you might want to enjoy a special meal with your family at Miller & Carter or one of our Premium Country Pubs. And guess what? You'll scoop up the discount there too.

Hastee pay

With Hastee, you’ll get to access up to 30% off your earned pay within 24 hours of finishing your shift. Perfect for the festive season when you’ve got gifts to buy and Christmas markets to roam.

Holiday pay

Just because you’re working part-time, doesn’t mean you won’t get your holiday pay. As a member of the team, you’ll earn your holiday pay just like everyone else. And it all adds up.

Start a career

We could think of a million and one reasons why M&B is the perfect place to find a part-time job, but one that has to be up there is the chance to build a career. Now, you might not know where you want to be five or ten years down the line. But, surely it makes sense to work for a company that will set you up with transferable skills you need, wherever your career takes you.

Check out our part-time jobs

Are you looking for jobs for 16 year olds and older that pay a good wage? A part-time job could be the perfect way to clock some hours while you finish your studies. Plus, it's a great way to dip your toes into a hospitality job and figure out if it's something you'd want to do long-term.

And, if you want to be a part of a company that is always looking to be better, you're in the right place. Whether we're working towards being a more inclusive employer or pushing towards a Net-Zero future, we put everything we've got into the causes we believe in.

Check out part-time jobs at M&B to see the part-time restaurant and pub jobs and part-time kitchen jobs that we can offer you.
