Celebrating 125 years of M&B : our teams through the years
With M&B celebrating its 125th Anniversary this year, we want to shine a light on our people, they are what make M&B so special.
Over the next few months, we will be sharing a selection of stories from our people – some of those have recently joined us, fresh on their M&B journey, whilst others have built up a wealth of experience from their time here! We want to share some of their proudest achievements and most memorable moments – in their own words. Their stories help to capture what it is that make so many people want to join, and then stay within the M&B family.
Virtues experience on the Area Management Scheme
To start us off, we spoke to Operations Graduate, Virtue about her M&B journey so far.
I joined M&B as an Operations Graduate because I wanted to be part of a company that had a great presence, not just within the industry but nationally. It really is amazing how M&B has this; no matter what city I find myself in, I know I can find an M&B business in the area – it’s like having relatives scattered all over the country!
I am only at the start of my M&B journey and already I have been involved in some incredible areas of the business. One of my most favourite moments so far, has to be being involved as part of the opening team for the recent reopening of Browns, Covent Garden.
Working with such a remarkable team to open arguably one of the most renowned M&B venues was just incredible! The venue is absolutely stunning, and the food shows were just superb.
To me, M&B is so special because of the sheer complexity of the organisation – how layered, yet how structured it is. M&B is like a well-oiled machine or a high functioning ecosystem and as an Operations Graduate, I’m fortunate enough to rotate departments and see how each function operates. From the outside, it may seem like we’re just here to serve the perfect ‘burger and chips’, but when you see all the teams and departments that are dedicated to making that happen – it is honestly mind-blowing!
The most amazing part of M&B and a huge reason as to why I want to continue my career here, is the people! The culture is so rich, and the community is entrenched in ‘work hard, play hard’. Every team I’ve worked with have been welcoming, willing to teach and ultimately so much fun. I can’t wait to see what else M&B has to offer me as I embark on my career path.
Oh, and just as important – I don’t know what my life would look like if I didn’t have my 33% discount!!
Virtue’s story is one of many that we will be sharing this summer to celebrate our 125th anniversary, so keep your eyes peeled for more tales of life at M&B coming soon!
