Kitchen Assistant responsibilities
So, what does a Kitchen Assistant do we hear you ask? From getting the kitchen set for the day ahead and organising stock to keeping the kitchen spotless and prepping ingredients to help our chefs cook up a storm, there’s plenty to keep you on your toes. And at the centre of it all? Teamwork! Lots and lots of teamwork.

Getting the kitchen ready for action
Before each shift, our Kitchen Assistant superheroes are on it.
As engineers of the kitchen setup, you can expect to be organising ingredients and equipment, making sure everything is on hand for the chef to work their magic. You’ll also support on some stock checks to make sure everything runs smoothly throughout your shift.
Cleanliness is key
Armed with cloths, cleaning supplies, and a can-do attitude, our Kitchen Assistants dance through the kitchen making everything spotless and sanitised. With every sweep and mop, they’re helping the team set the stage for flavour and flair. And let’s not forget their mastery of the pot wash area. Our kitchen assistants make sure every pot, pan, plate and tray shines like new and always finds its way back where it should be so it’s on hand for the team to use!
Pantry pals and a stove-side squad
In the kitchen, teamwork is the backbone of everything. Whether it's making sure everything is clean or helping the chef add a bit of spice to those dishes, you’ll be working hand in hand with your kitchen crew.
Everything runs more smoothly with a good team to back you up, and that’s something you’re bound to find at M&B. You might even pick up some kitchen slang.
