Launch your property career with M&B’s undergraduate property scheme
Looking to check in to an exciting future and book yourself a career in property? At M&B, we’ve got just the reservation for you.
Our Undergraduate Property Scheme is more than just a placement; it’s your front-row seat to a £5 billion real estate portfolio, covering everything from Grade 1 listed landmarks to bustling retail parks.
Think of it as a 12-month tasting menu for your property career, where you’ll rotate through departments, get a flavour of everything from surveying to development, and be mentored by top-tier chartered professionals. If you’re hungry to kickstart your career in property, this scheme serves up the perfect starter.
What is M&B’s undergraduate property scheme?
Think of this scheme as your all-access pass to the property world’s VIP lounge. With over 2,500 properties spread across five countries, no two days will feel the same.
The best part? You won’t be left to wander the estate alone. You’ll be paired with a chartered professional mentor who’ll help you navigate the property world like a maître d’, guiding you to the best table in the house.
Along the way, you’ll rotate across departments, from Building Maintenance and Development to Estate Management and Property Finance, sampling a bit of everything before you decide on your main course.
If you’re after a career in property that’s hands-on, full-flavoured, and backed by industry pros, this scheme gives you the best seat in the house.
A year in the life of your property career
This scheme is like a carefully curated set menu; each stage gives you a new flavour of what a career in property has to offer. Here’s a taste of what’s on the table:
- Week 1: Induction
The perfect starter, a bite-sized intro to M&B, the property function, and of course, meeting your mentor. - Weeks 2–3: Pub or Restaurant Placement
Time to sample the main business. You’ll spend two weeks in one of our pubs or restaurants, seeing first-hand how property development keeps our retail operations cooking. - Months 2–4: Department Introductions
Think of this as the sharing platter, you’ll rotate through different property departments, learning the “recipes” behind policies, procedures, and how everything fits together. - Months 5–10: Estate Travel & Projects
The hearty main course. You’ll travel across our estate, gaining hands-on experience in development projects and building maintenance surveying, all with your mentor as your head chef. - Months 11–12: Research Project
Time for the chef’s special. You’ll take on a research project that directly supports departmental goals, adding your own unique flavour to the mix. - Month 12: Dessert (Wrap-Up)
End on a sweet note. By the time the bill arrives, you’ll have built up the skills and competencies to progress your career in property and move closer to professional qualifications.
Why choose M&B to start your property career?
When it comes to property, M&B isn’t just serving bar snacks; we’re plating up a five-star experience. And just like a great dining experience, it’s not just about the venue, it’s about the people.
You’ll be mentored by seasoned professionals (think of them as the Michelin-starred chefs of the property world), including members of RICS, CIOB and CABE, who’ll guide you through every course of your journey.
Add to that the chance to work on real projects, travel across the estate, and get your name on a research piece that genuinely makes an impact, and you’ve got yourself a recipe for a property career that’s as fulfilling as a perfectly cooked main.
At M&B, we don’t just give you a seat at the table, we hand you the menu and let you get stuck in. Apply now to our property undergraduate schemes and start building a future you’ll be proud of.
